Talk To The Elephant
For this week's assignment, I was asked to talk to my subconscious.
I have been so embedded with the thought of meditation/ anxiety/ heart rate/ calmness etc, I decided to use the theme further for this week's assignment as well.
In order to talk to my elephant, my subconscious, I decided to let an external factor reflect by beat per average. I wanted to see how my body reacts to the environment around me.
What are my triggers? What are my calmers? How being conscious of something is impacting by unconscious?
Let us say for a second I wanted to feel nothing, be so into my meditation that I feel nothing just numbness. My best bet for that was guided meditation. I wanted to feel like I was slowing down, simply focusing on my breath, reading and reflecting how that impacts my heart rate.
I have used this app called Calm, it serves with a huge range of guided meditation and breathing. I decided to make a conscious decision of a 2-minute meditation session that was guided by this app's inhaling and exhaling visual exercise.
Below is a video of the app and the serial monitor that reflects my heart rate as I am conscious of my breathing, while it is controlling my unconscious.
