Animation: After Effects

Christina and I collaborated for this project. We talked about our concept a couple of times and noticed that we wanted to incorporate our ITP experience in our animation. We noticed that our everyday lives had some kind of loop at ITP, some kid of routine, it felt like we could almost mix that routine with a tune. It almost felt like a tribute to come to ITP, press the 4th floor, walk into the elevators, walk out of the elevators, walk into classes and so forth. 

We filmed the elevators on the ground floor from the outside and then collected footage of every floor from inside the elevators. We decided to create the experience of walking into an elevator and open the elevator door to a new experience each time you enter a different floor. Since we had only one hour, we realized we could only fit in two floors. We used the four seasons and divided them into two floors: fall-winter, summer-spring. 

We collected assets in relation to these seasons and created small animation compositions for every floor. Unfortunately, we realized on zooming in that these assets were low-res images, which was a bummer and a good learning lesson for choosing assets the next time.
